What is the Startup Beach House?

One of the main roadblocks for many entrepreneurs isn’t having a great idea or even the money to execute that idea, it is taking the time to implement your business idea. Whether that means sitting down and designing a site, working on business plans, or any of the other number of things that a company needs to get started, setting aside time is crucial to launching your business. In our daily lives, these great ideas often get pushed to the site because of “real world” concerns. No more.

The idea of the Startup Beach House came about after seeing many of the Startup Weekends and other hackathons which result in measurable businesses. We wanted to provide something in between a startup accelerator and a weekend hackathon. So why not have it at the shore?

We wanted to change that.

Instead of a single weekend, take a whole week during the summer to work on a new business idea that you’ve been dreaming of.

Since real-world stresses abound at home, we thought a retreat would be a better way to settle down and focus on the founding of your business. Since us, the three founders, are from the Philadelphia area, we thought the perfect place was the Jersey Shore.

You bring a plan and a team. We provide some of the resources necessary to launch your business idea.

While at the house, you’ll have access to other mentors who have been where you are and have industry connections.

During the week, we’ll be documenting the process and producing a web series in order to show others what goes on during the week. This has dual goals – the first is that it helps to publicize your startup, and the second is that it educates others to entrepreneurship and what it takes to start a business.
